Leadership
Marotti Autosport
At Marotti Autosport, leadership is about more than building a fast race car. It’s about vision, integrity, and a relentless commitment to moving IndyCar forward. From the team’s debut at the 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500 to the groundbreaking “Spirit of Speedway” fan-ownership initiative, our leaders bring diverse experience and a shared passion for motorsports.
Will Marotti
Will Marotti is the only pastor in history to enter a team in the Indianapolis 500, making headlines in 2016 as co-entrant with Schmidt-Peterson/Marotti Autosport. Building on that milestone, he launched Marotti Autosport, a racing and media enterprise that combines traditional motorsport with innovative fan-driven initiatives—most notably the Spirit of Speedway, a fan-owned Indy 500 project that broke new ground in crowdfunding and community engagement.
Through his weekly show, “The Pits Are Open” (on SpeedSport1, YouTube, Facebook, and podcast platforms), Marotti explores racing culture with a faith-forward lens. Recent episodes have featured insider analysis of the IndyCar season with special guests like IndyCar driver Christian Rasmussen and Indy Star’s Nathan Brown; the program is quickly becoming a recognized voice in the IndyCar media landscape.
Beyond the racetrack, Marotti has established himself as a motorsport communicator and entrepreneur. His show blends race coverage, sponsorship analysis, and cultural commentary, helping both fans and sponsors understand the intersection of racing, brand growth, and lifestyle marketing. He continues to shape new partnerships between racing and consumer brands, positioning motorsport as a powerful platform for ROI-driven storytelling.
Jim Abely
With more than two decades of business development experience, Jim Abely has been a cornerstone of Marotti Autosport since its earliest days. His steady hand in strategy and operations has helped position the team as both a competitive racing program and a forward-thinking business platform.
Ben Porter
Ben Porter leads the team’s creative direction, drawing on over 20 years of expertise in branding and design. He is the mind behind the bold visual identity of the “Spirit of Speedway” program, ensuring that Marotti Autosport’s story is told with clarity, style, and impact.
Brian Regnerus
A veteran in motorsports communications, Brian Regnerus oversees public relations and media strategy for Marotti Autosport. With two decades of PR experience, he helps connect the team’s story to fans, partners, and the wider racing community—always highlighting the values of authenticity and innovation that define the organization.
Building the Future
Together, this leadership team blends racing passion with business acumen, creative innovation, and a deep respect for the history of Indianapolis. Their shared mission is simple: to keep building a program that excites fans, delivers for partners, and proves that IndyCar’s best days are still to come.
